Many of us are quick to blame others for our lack of progress. We can identify another’s area of weakness but find it difficult to see the specific ares that we need to improve. Could it possibly be that our lack of progress and improvement actually has nothing to do with the one we blame everything on but, everything to do with us?
Have we gotten lost in our daily routine, putting our dreams and goals to the side? Do we know WHAT to do to fix the problem but make every excuse not to do so? Are we aware of our weak areas, lack of knowledge and/or experience and choose not to put for the effort to be better and do better? Is it possible that we remain set in our own ineffective ways because our pride is all up in the way?
I want to encourage you to take a look at yourself this week. None of us have a perfect life. We are all dealing with something. Unfortunately, some of us have been dealing with same thing for months (even years) because of our own lack of commitment, obedience and pride.
- Are you not making a commitment?
- Are you choosing not to follow through with wise counsel?
- Has God spoken to you only to have you ignore His still small voice?
- Would you rather be right and therefore let pride stunt your growth?
- Are you at peace with remaining broken vs. setting yourself up for a breakthrough?
I believe that 2017 is the year to get things done and make huge progress towards your goals. But, in order to do so, you have to be willing to evaluate your position and be willing to break the cycle that’s holding you back. Don’t worry, it’s not too late, but it’s absolutely time to fix it.
