CONSISTENCY PAYS OFF

I think the easiest part about having an idea or a dream is exactly that…having that idea or dream.  But making it a reality, now that’s the real challenge. In case this is your first time reading any of my posts this year, let me be the first to inform you that I have called 2017 the year to do it!  And for me this means that  instead of talking and thinking about achieving my goals, I’m gonna put in the work and get it done!

Now here’s the thing, putting in the work is not just a one time thing. It takes lots of effort and commitment. While I have shared with you 5 things to say no to this year in a previous post, today I want to encourage you to say YES! Say a big ole YES to being consistent.

Why say yes?

1. Consistency builds discipline

You can have an amazing idea, clear goals with everything organized and ready to go and your efforts still fail. Why? Because you don’t stay the course. In order for you to see results from your efforts this year, you must remain disciplined and that’s where consistency comes to the rescue!

Achieving the results you want will require you to be steady and dependable (consistent yall) in your work ethic, planning, communication and character. Doing so will help develop the regimen you need in order to improve yourself, your skills, relationships and/or business.

2. Consistency reflects true progress

Many people start things i.e. a new business, writing a book, a new relationship or weight loss program and after only a few days or weeks quit because they have not reached the desired results.

Be patient my friend

True growth can’t be tracked after a day or a few weeks of effort. I mean, of course you can check things off your daily to do list which is productive, but you must give yourself, your product and/or service TIME to produce substantial fruit. In the article Power of Consistency: 5 Rules,  Eric Holtzclaw suggests giving yourself at least 6 months before considering something a true success or failure but sometimes it can take longer than that.

Remain consistent, water the seed you’ve planted, shine the sunlight of consistency and watch things grow in due time!

3.  Consistency makes you and your product/service trustworthy

Being consistent shows people that they can count on you and your product/service. I mean, think about it: can you really trust anyone or anything that is there one week, gone two months and then pops back up again? Ummm no.

Being unpredictable/undependable is not gonna work. Even when it comes to your product or service, do your best to give everyone the same professional, excellent experience every time.  This builds trust.  People will grow to know that you stand by your word, you believe in your product/service and you operate in a spirit of excellence-all because you were consistent in your presence and delivery.

4. Consistency builds self-confidence

As you work to get things done in 2017, it is important that you build self-confidence. Being consistent can help you in this area. Man think about it, the more you do something correctly, the better you get right? Right! When you take time to work at something daily or weekly-on a consistent basis, with the right attitude and intentions, you will develop your skills, grow your gift, your business and learn to trust yourself. You have to be confident in who you are and what you have to offer in order to get the results you’re looking for. Man who knew being consistent could do all this for you?

Welp, I hope this encouraged you today.  Remember, I’m rooting for you and I’m doing this right along with you. So, what do you plan to be more consistent with?  Would love to hear from you.  Please comment and share!

Till next time…much love,

Natalie
