6 Tips as You Finalize your 2018 Goals!

Happy 2018!

Is it just me or are you super excited for what this year will bring?  I hope that most of you are finalizing your goals for the new year.  As you begin to do so, I want you to make sure you have covered the following things:

  1. Specify your goals

Habakkuk 2: 2-Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it

General goals are easy to write but when you take time to specify what you really want, it will help you to track your progress as well as hold you accountable.

For example:

General goal- I will lose weight in 2018

Specific goal- I will lose at total of 25 lbs by December 31, 2018 ….

Even more specific I will lose 2-3 pounds a month in order to reach my goal of 25 pounds by December 31, 2018.

  1. Commit your goals/plans to God

Proverbs 16:3- Commit to the Lord whatever you do,  and he will establish your plans.

Pray over your goals. Let God know that you trust Him with helping you to accomplish them HOWEVER He may choose to make it happen.

  1. Be open to God’s purpose for 2018

While you can have 10 goals for 2018, (yikes), you must desire God’s purpose to go forth.  That’s why Proverbs 16:3 is so important.  When you commit your goals to God, you give Him the authority to guide, order and direct your steps.  As I stated before, this may mean that what YOU had in mind is not what He wants to do in your life for this season.  Be OK with that knowing that His will for your life is perfect.

  1. Get wise advice

Prov. 15:22: Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.

Did you know a lack of wise advice can lead to failure? Yep, sure can. Seek advice from individuals that have experience in what you are trying to succeed and have been successful in doing so.  This may mean that your BFF is not the person to help you successfully build your brand (sorry, not sorry).

Remember that advice can come in many ways. While a face-to-face conversation isgreat and much needed, wise advice can come via blogs, periscope, YouTube, books (the Bible is beast) and prayer.  So get out there, research and learn the best way to achieve your goals!

  1. Get Ready to Work

(Ecclesiastes 9:10)- Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.

You can have goals, dreams and a great vision but if you don’t put in the work, nothing will get done.  You have one life here on earth.  Work it with all you’ve got.  Do all you can to be a blessing to those God has placed in your life.  Work to make those dreams come true!

  1. Be strong. Don’t quit

(2 Chronicles 15:7)But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.”

This year will be amazing but every moment will not feel or look great.  You will have your challenges but you must stay strong and not give up.  Remember that your hard work will be rewarded.

Alright guys!  Double check those goals and get ready to put in the work.  Here’s to an amazing 2018!

Much love,

Natalie
